So im finally starting work on a new album now that i got my new lil studio up and rollin,that is if i can learn all these computer programs, im so used to the multitracker vs daw format. Needless to say the lengthy 4 whores and 7 beers ago era was mosdef educational and had its shares of ups and downs. the new project begins its birth being dubbed “project Smoke and Mirrors” as i just figured these new songs i been workin on as of late and with the new studio equipment i just needed to start with a fresh state. I do believe the original 4 whores project is around 2100 copies of tapes/minidiscs and CDs distributed none of which i happen to own anymore lol so we got a decent foundation to start from. the tracks ive listed so far are just old 1st take demos/retreads/outtakes/alt versions etc that im considering redoing now that i got a proper set up to work with. so any feedback will be appreciated and duely noted,not wastin time redoing a 10year old song if everyone says it totally sucks ass lol

spent all of 5 seconds coming up with the guitar riff, not even really a song, just noise mixed together, my 1980 eh memory man just arrived from ebay, and my running mate Valentina asks what it did, so after i explain it to her she goes, oh so its just like the small stone thingy, nooo so i plugged it in to test and show her, forgot that the 24track was still on and armed. a month later when Big J stops by to help me relocate to my current location, he hears it and puts it together with an old drum beat i had laying around and cut the keyboards. after telling him it sounds like a hot mess he starts rapping on top of the 2nd verse and the birth of the unradio friendly line “yo my name is Mohler” begins, I only have the chorus track in my possesion at the moment lyrically but ill find the whole thing and post it asap, the songs junk but pretty hillarious

My 1st song ever, started as an acoustic in may of 1994, followed by its slow counterpart once again “listen” in july, then 2 others that have joined the scrap yard, listen is actually prolly still my fav to date and the only song thats lyrics havent changed (have 7 complete sets of lyrics for this song) but oddly has only been recorded once, and is long lost. its ok cuz its best heard 1 acoustic, 1 voice. anyways atleast 10 years later the mesa boogie and lead parts touched this song, soon to be redone, with yet, another set of lyrics lol the granpappy of them all Confused

I seem to have this on going complex about writing songs in pairs, and if one is slow, the other tends to be a fast paced loud rocker, if the 1st rocks, then the 2nd is likely to have a hip hop beat and rapped. probally the quickest song i ever did as far as completing lyrics and guitar, bass, drums, or lack of, started with the line so many words i dont know where to startabout 9pm and by midnight had what you hear now. did another take with just myself singing and an acoustic, this song is the main reason i started this page, as long as its not a majority vote that it sucks im going to redo it with a 12 string and the original vocals. i must of just got my memory man or small stone cuz something is swirling like mad on the guitar track lol, its all 1st take material, no edits no corrections, so its raw and off time, so hope you can bare it
